The main areas of activity of the Laboratory include:

  • study of deposition processes of thin film coatings using PVD methods,

  • design, construction, modernisation and manufacturing of vacuum components (electron guns, magnetron guns) and

  • servicing of these devices working in other scientific and research units,

  • deposition of functional thin films coatings using magnetron sputtering and electron beam evaporation

  • diagnostics of optical properties of thin film materials by means of the light transmission/reflection method

  • diagnostics of electrical properties of thin film materials by means of thermoelectric, d.c. and a.c. current and voltage measurements

  • investigations of properties of multifunctional thin film nanomaterials,

  • testing of laboratory photovoltaic cells and modules and long-term measurements of photovoltaic systems under natural conditions.
